The building's AHU was running on outdated forward-curved belt-driven fans, which were both energy-inefficient and increasingly prone to mechanical wear. The existing coil was no longer performing to the standard the building required, and corrosion had taken hold within the unit casing — left unchecked, this would have continued to spread, compromising the unit's structural integrity and airflow performance over time. The building needed a solution that addressed all three issues without the cost and disruption of installing an entirely new unit.

Our engineers removed the existing forward-curved belt-driven fans and replaced them with a modern EC fan wall, immediately improving energy efficiency and giving far greater control over airflow.

The old coil was removed and replaced with a new DX coil, upgrading the unit's cooling capability and bringing performance back in line with the building's requirements.

All corrosion within the unit was removed and treated to prevent further deterioration, and the door hatches were replaced to restore a proper seal and safe access for future maintenance.

The office block now has a fully refurbished AHU delivering improved energy efficiency, upgraded cooling performance, and long-term structural integrity — all achieved without the cost and downtime of a full unit replacement. The building's facilities team now has a reliable, efficient system in place, built to last well into the future.
