AHU Refurbishment with Bespoke Fabrication for a Hampshire University
This university required refurbishment work across two supply and extract units, combining fan upgrades with bespoke fabrication to bring both units up to standard.

The Challenge
Running two separate supply and extract units, the university needed a coordinated refurbishment rather than two standalone jobs. The existing forward-curved belt-driven fans across both units were outdated and inefficient, driving up running costs. On top of this, one unit's AHU door needed replacing, and the system required a new air intake cowl to ensure proper airflow into the units — both components that couldn't simply be bought off-the-shelf and needed to be fabricated to fit exactly.
EC Fan Wall Upgrade
We replaced the existing fans on both supply and extract units with new EC fan walls, improving energy efficiency and airflow control across both systems.
Access Door & Cowl Manufacture
Our team manufactured a new AHU door and a bespoke air intake cowl, both built precisely to fit the existing units.
Installation
The new door and air intake cowl were installed alongside the fan wall upgrades, completing the refurbishment across both units in a single coordinated project.
The Result
The university now has two upgraded, energy-efficient AHUs, complete with bespoke fabricated components built to last — delivered as a single coordinated project rather than two separate jobs, minimising disruption across campus.
